Meet the Experts

Colm has worked in the IT world for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience. From his first IT Helpdesk Engineer role, he progressed to being the Chief Technical Architect for a major bank, responsible for design and oversight of their global infrastructure systems. In 2006 he left “The City” and created Rio IT where his passion lies in building and leading a talented team of IT professionals that specialise in delivering real-world solutions for real-world businesses.

Conor joined Rio in 2015 as a helpdesk engineer. In his time with us, Conor has worked his way up through the business, earning his formal qualifications along the way.  His wealth of IT experience means he is in a perfect position to help you find and address any gaps in your IT strategy. Conor’s main focus is on researching, developing, and adapting our solutions, so our clients can rest assured the services they’re getting are best suited for their need.

Qualifications: MD-100 (Windows 10), MTA: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals, MTA: Security Fundamentals, MTA: Networking Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Principles of Management and Leadership – Level 3 Diploma

David has over 14 years’ experience delivering IT projects and providing technical support for clients. He has a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from UEA. His work interests include AWS deployments and VoIP telephony systems, and he’s always happy to be given a new challenge to tackle. David is Microsoft and AWS certified. Outside of work he has a young family and particularly enjoys photography, drone flying, and cars.

Qualifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft Certified Professional

Daniel has been working in the IT support industry since 2012 working his way up from an apprenticeship. Over this time Daniel has developed troubleshooting skills in the areas of hardware, software and networking. Joining Rio in the summer of 2018 Daniel hopes to progress his career in IT by developing his existing troubleshooting skills while learning about emerging technologies that can help benefit Rio’s clientele.

Russell has been working in the IT support industry since 2015 and joined Rio in the winter of 2020. Russell is a systems engineer and hopes to develop his IT knowledge alongside his existing troubleshooting skills. Outside of work Russell enjoys spending time with his family, walks along the seaside and bowling.

Qualifications: Threatlocker Certified

Originally from South Africa, Justin had been working in the IT industry since 2018 after completing an apprenticeship. He has worked as part of helpdesks in businesses from small enterprises to international businesses. He loves to help people and to learn new things at the same time and is hoping to learn as much as he can at Rio on top of his existing knowledge.
Outside of work, he loves to go hiking, to the gym and take part in competitive gaming/esports tournaments

Killian has over 18 years of experience within the field of IT and joined RIO IT in the autumn of 2020. Killian is a system engineer developing alternate solutions depending on the specified requirements. Outside of work Killian enjoys keeping fit, good food and seeing friends and family.

Tim oversees support tickets and ensures SLAs are upheld. He also oversees preventative or security risks that clients should be made aware of.

With nearly a decade of IT experience under his belt, Kieran is one tech-savvy Systems Engineer. Whether it’s network troubleshooting, Office 365 support, or infrastructure improvements, he’s got your back – both on-site and remotely. Drawing on his background as an IT Technician, Kieran takes a proactive approach to problem-solving, always aiming to resolve issues thoroughly and prevent repeat headaches. A true team player, he enjoys collaborating with colleagues to strengthen IT systems across client sites. But Kieran’s skills aren’t just confined to the office – he’s also passionate about building custom PCs, exploring photography and cars, and even rocking out on the guitar in his spare time.

After over 20 years in leadership and compliance roles, Filipe decided it was time for a change – and IT was calling his name. Armed with a degree in Computing and IT, as well as a slew of additional courses under his belt, he joined the Rio IT team as an IT Support Engineer. Now, Filipe puts his technical know-how to work, helping clients tackle day-to-day issues, setting up hardware and software, and ensuring smooth operations through his proactive problem-solving skills. But Filipe’s passion for IT goes beyond just the job – it’s rooted in a genuine desire to help others and a curiosity about how technology can make a real difference. Whether he’s diving into the latest Microsoft 365 updates or fine-tuning his skills in networking and remote support, Filipe is loving every minute of his rewarding IT journey as part of the forward-thinking Rio team.

Meet Adam, our resident Senior Systems Engineer. With over 18 years of experience under his belt, Adam brings a wealth of IT know-how to the Rio team, having previously worked at a Norfolk-based MSP. His true passion lies in project-based work and server infrastructure, and he’s got the certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, and Watchguard Firewalls to prove it. But Adam’s interests extend beyond the office walls – when he’s not busy ensuring top-notch IT solutions for our clients, you can find him catching the latest flicks at the cinema or spending quality time with friends and family.

With over 20 years experience in software development, Darren joined Rio in 2007 before becoming a Director in 2015. Darren thrives on solving business problems, improving efficiency and realising opportunities using technology and has designed operating models and software solutions for businesses across a wide range of industries. Outside of Rio, he enjoys reading, gaming, and scale modelling.

Marjan has over a decade of experience in software development, is Microsoft Certified, and has a bachelor’s degree in Computing, Informatics and Automation.

Stef studied computer science for 5 years during high school. At 16, she had her first internship, which then became a permanent position as a web developer for a software company in Italy. Here she was developing custom e-commerce solutions and web applications. Then she moved to London and worked for almost 3 years as a software engineer in a sports betting company, working on their systems and developing new features for customer projects. Stef joined Rio in 2022 and is looking forward to using her skills and knowledge to help Rio clients improve their business efficiency. In her free time Stef enjoys being outdoors, running and hiking with her dog, as well as eating out and curling up with a good book.

Kim has over 20 years of senior strategic marketing management experience working with SaaS providers and corporates including Vodafone UK. She has been fortunate to have led a host of marketing projects, managing strategic marketing relationships with partners including American Express USA, American Express UK, and Verizon Wireless. 

As a forward-thinking and strategic marketer, she places great emphasis on customer experience and lifecycle marketing. She is always listening and happy to speak to any Rio customer to ensure Rio is always delivering what customers need most. 

 

Cinzia has been with Rio since 2010, and is responsible for office administration, daily bookkeeping activities and managing customer account queries.
